Poster Design
Advertising
The event Le Graphique Palette, held at the Louvre Museum, showcases an era that has created a foundation of graphic design today. The movements are Art Nouveau, Sachplakat, Futurism, Bauhaus, Swiss Style, and Grunge. The speaker for this event will be Damien Collot, a famous designer who studies typography and the psychology behind design and legibility.
The color palette for the poster was chosen carefully to properly to represent the older movements and the newer ones to fit cohesively with one another. Art Nouveau shows the patterned brackground with a similar font to what Alphonse Mucha would use. In the middle is the logo for the Louvre Museum. This poster is created with motion media to create a more interactive surface for the viewer and to bring them in. It could be used for social media marketing. Sachplakat is simplistic, based off Lucian Bernhard's work. The main focus is a monument in Paris so the audience's attention is caught and drawn to the poster. Futurism is referenced on the very beginning of the movement with the motion of typography inspired by Filipo Marinetti. For this poster, I created motion media in a way I imagine Marinetti would have done if it were possible in his time. Josef Albers and his "Homage to the Square" the play on color and the relationship with each other. The Swiss Style poster is simplistic and straight forward with geometric shapes, what was used at the time when the movement was created. Lastly, the most recent and a looked over movement, Grunge. Inspired by David Carson and his use of rough textures and type.

Additional material included in the mockups are poster ads of the events coming up that could be seen in the city, since it is over the span of multiple weeks.
